Chamera Stage - III Power Station (231MW)

Chamera Stage-III Hydroelectric Project is located on Chamba – Kharamukh road with its dam site near village durgathi and Power House site near village Churi about 45 km and 27 km upstream of Chamba Town respectively. The Project envisages construction of a 68 m high concrete gravity dam across Ravi River, a 15.93 km long 6.4m dia horse shoe shaped Head Race Tunnel, 110 m high surge shaft of 24 m dia, Underground desilting arrangement with two parallel chambers each in size 300m x 13m x 22m and a power house with three units of 77 MW each for generating 1108.17 MU of energy in a 90% dependable year. The estimated cost of the project at February 2005 price level Rs.1405.63 Crore. The Project is under active construction stage and is scheduled to be commissioned in five years i.e. by August, 2010.
